Fence & Staining Work

A fence is only as good as its footing and its finish. We install privacy and property-line fences with concrete footings set below the Ontario frost line, and we follow up with a professional stain system that protects the wood through salt-spray, UV, and freeze-thaw cycles common across Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, and Milton.
Fence Installation We Offer

- Composite & vinyl fences — low-maintenance long-life option
- Horizontal-slat modern fences — for contemporary Oakville and Burlington builds
- Pool enclosure fences — installed to local by-law height and gap rules
- Gates, arbours, and custom post caps
Professional Fence & Deck Staining
Staining is the single biggest thing that extends the life of a wood fence or deck in Ontario. We power-wash, sand problem boards, replace damaged pickets, then apply semi-transparent or solid stain with spray-and-back-brush technique for even coverage and penetration. Pressure-treated lumber needs 4–8 weeks of dry time before it can be stained; cedar can usually be stained much sooner.
- Prep: wash, sand, spot-repair, replace split boards
- Application: even coats with spray-and-back-brush for penetration
- Materials: premium exterior stain rated for Canadian climate
- Covers fences, decks, pergolas, arbours, and garden structures
Why Fence Footings Matter in Ontario
Most leaning or heaved fences in Hamilton, Ancaster and Stoney Creek fail at the footing, not the boards. We set concrete footings at least 4 ft (1.2 m) deep, on a compacted gravel base, with the post isolated from standing water. That combination is what keeps the fence plumb after repeated freeze-thaw cycles in our clay-heavy soil.
Permit & By-Law Considerations
Standard backyard fences under 2 m generally do not require a permit in Hamilton, Burlington or Oakville, but front-yard heights, corner-lot sight triangles, and pool enclosures all have rules that vary by municipality. We verify the by-law for your specific property before we start and handle permits when they are required.
